About this deal

This Studio Series 86 Voyager Class The Transformers: The Movie-inspired Autobot Hot Rod figure converts from robot to sports car mode in 29 steps. Now, the Studio Series line is expanding to include the epic moments and characters from the classic 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, bringing fans a whole new series of screen-inspired figures to collect! I didn't know until I got this that it had the visor that goes over his eyes when he sees the Decepticons in the movie I was not expecting that little feature. BIG SCREEN INSPIRED: Figure scale reflects the character’s size in the world of The Transformers: The Movie. They manage to keep the silhouette faithful and recognizable and the paint applications are clean with no instances of ugly, overdone colors that you might see with other studio series 86 figures.

It was 1986, and was one of the first Transformers toys to not be a re-release of an older Diaclone or Microman toy, and as such, was designed a bit differently. Figure also includes 2 movie-inspired blasters and 2 blast effects, and features buzz saw and spark welder hand attachments inspired by the scene where Hot Rod slices through robot kelp and giant squid tentacles, then repairs Kup. This is all of the poseability you get: Hot Rod’s elbows can move forwards and backwards, and side to side. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Hot rod has been a personal top favorite for me since I started getting into transformers and I am so glad that this figure has been able to do him justice. While Hot Rod comes with a few pre-applied, a lot of their details are provided by those stickers, and you’ll be expected to finish them off.

So, Hot Rod’s vehicle mode is a swoopy, curvy concept car, with a big, exaggerated spoiler in the back, giant chromed exhaust pipes down the sides, and a big engine block up front. Instead of realistic vehicles, these new figures changed into what we thought the futuristic cars of 2005 would look like in 1986. This Studio Series 93 Deluxe Class Transformers: The Last Knight-inspired Autobot Hot Rod figure converts from robot to a licensed Lamborghini Centenario mode in 26 steps. In fact, the whole thing feels really solid and durable, and unlike a lot of G1 toys from the first two years, I don’t feel like I need to wear kid gloves to handle it. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.Articulation is solid and isn’t inhibited by transformation at all, the leg even includes a double knee joint (albeit for transformation). It’s roughly the same size as a Siege deluxe, but a lot heftier thanks to being made of more solid chunks of plastic, and a bit of diecast metal (though it’s not visible in this mode). This is augmented by sticker detail, which includes a trademark of Hot Rod’s design: Orange and yellow flames on the hood, with an Autobot symbol right in the middle. He can be hotheaded, but he's always a well meaning, admirable lad and a brave and honorable fighter. The main colorscheme is a deep, burgundy red, at odds with the somewhere-between-magenta-and-pink coloration in Transformers: The Movie.
