About this deal

On February 4th 1977, after a year of recording through hedonism, scandal and relationship break-ups the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac released their eleventh studio album, Rumours. The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. The albums story has been told many times, none better than in the ‘classic albums’ documentary (maybe that couldn’t been included too? It is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in the US on 1 March and then in the UK on 16th March 1973. That said, if unlike me you haven't accumulated a pile of versions already, then this is probably worth it and hopefully represents the final word. I bought a Roksan Attessa in the sales and thought I would christen it with a new LP and well it just had to be Dark Side of the Moon. One of the most famous albums in rock history, Pink Floyd’s 1973 juggernaut ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ gets a new remaster to mark half a century since its release.Originally released as part of a larger fiftieth anniversary box set, it offers fresh insight into one of the most iconic and beloved LPs ever. Pink Floyd announced the upcoming stand-alone release of the newly remastered ‘ The Dark Side Of The Moon’ on CD, LP and Blu-ray. So while I'm sick to see yet another release of what was a brilliantly recorded album originally, for me, it came down to this. I have the separate issues of the new vinyl, cd and Blu-ray but what is inside this package is different. First released as part of The Dark Side Of The Moon 50th Anniversary Box Set, this is the first time that the new mix of the classic album is available on its own in a physical format. I can now finally say that the Atmos mix has at last succeeded in revealing a faithful and dynamic sound. It includes CD and gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered studio album and Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5. Having waited this long, I had wondered whether the story that MFSL has accidentally erased the original Master tape was true. On February 27th 1973, EMI Records held a press conference for the debut presentation of Pink Floyd’s new album The Dark Side Of The Moon at the London Planetarium. To answer this, I will quote a certain tall motor journalist (you know who I mean) when reviewing the then-new Aston Martin DBS. Originally released in 1973 and becoming one of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally.

For anyone who already owns Dark Side on vinyl, all you're really paying for is that incremental improvement. The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. He said to his mystified colleagues that it was like a DB9 where every little piece is a little bit better. The quality of this recording and the sound is just phenomenal, stereo separation is superb and I was just amazed at how it sounded. Light in the Attic Records present the next installment of the Nancy Sinatra Archival Series with the first ever reissue of the classic 1972 album Nancy and Lee Again. The set also includes additional new Blu-ray disc of Atmos mix plus CD and LP of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon – Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974’. What I can say is that the emotions are still present, certainly they are not the same but this disc is so well recorded that you will always find something positive in it.

The replacement was better, but still not great - hopefully a few plays and some continued cleaning and it will improve a bit more. Plus - and for audiophiles, this is something of a miracle - they've solved the distortion issue around 6 minutes into Us and Them which always drove me crazy.
