About this deal

It’s designed to stop children pressing the buckle button while you’re driving, and is marketed at any children who are strapped into their car seat using the adult seatbelt (such as with a group II/III car seat). The ICSC Buckle Cover is made for use with a 5-point harness, to stop children from releasing their buckle. The accidental undoing of seat belts was something that was happening to us with worrying regularity, and when it happened five times in just one journey, we decided that it was time to do something about it.

The seatbelt triangle pad is designed to pull the cross-body part of the adult seatbelt away from your child’s neck, and provide additional padding. The threat of enforcement action against operators for the use of the guards was something of a “bolt from the blue”, especially given that many in the PSV industry have been using buckle guards for many years without any enforcement from DVSA officers or the Police, and mindful that local authorities have approved of the use of seat belt buckle guards when providing SEN services. However, strapping in your child with an additional belt means you’ll have to release a second buckle, and you won’t be able to release your child in one action (a requirement of both R44 and R129 car seat regulations). However, the cost of the accessory itself wouldn’t be covered as it doesn’t form part of the original car seat. The Angel Guard needs brute force to remove it, but is more suited to those vehicles where the seat belt buckle is recessed within the seat itself. But since the beginning of 2016, it has come integrated into all Cosatto's Group 1 and 1/2/3 car seats, so the brand clearly agrees with its benefits.

Turning off the personalized advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. This is a plastic clip that’s attached to the integral harness to hold the straps together, ideally at chest height. Our car seat testing experts were concerned that this could potentially increase dangerous amounts of pressure on the soft area of your child’s abdomen in the event of a crash.

It comes with a seat belt cutter/window hammer, and window sticker which explains where the seat belt cutter is kept, in case of emergencies: https://incarsafetycentre.

It’s designed to make it easier to buckle up your child by raising the position of the buckle, making it more accessible.

Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centers that host Etsy. To use, simply slip The BuckleRoo™ over the buckle receptacle and connect the seat belt as you normally would. With passenger sitting in seating position, position seatbelt as required and slide into latch using the larger slot. But to comply with requirements set out in EU car seatbelt regulations, the distance between the belt guide at the vehicle seatbelt tongue and the edge of the backrest bottom/seat surface should not exceed 150mm.

R44 and R129 both make it mandatory for a rear-facing child car seat to carry a visible airbag warning label on the inner surface of the seat, near where the head sits. This is because trying to make eye contact with your little one, or see what he or she is up to while you're at the wheel, stops you concentrating on your driving. These devices are to be used only for the retention of child seats or similar vehicle fitments that utilise the seatbelt to hold a chair. Of course, a cup in the car could fly free in an accident and a cup-holder may not prevent this, so bear this in mind. NOTE: Can only be used on car seats that feature a splitter plate on the harness, which is found on the backside of the car seat(see photo below).

They tend to be used by operators for school or local authority transport to ensure children do not unbuckle their seat belts without the driver knowing, which of course would be a safety issue, and would be very difficult to monitor by the driver when the vehicle is in motion. But our car seat experts noted that if the pad is poorly placed, it could pull the lap belt up and the shoulder belt down, so that they run across the sensitive abdomen area, which could be dangerous in a crash.
