About this deal

James Patterson and Maxine Paetro are back with this next installment from the series, A Women’s Murder Club Thriller. Not only is the name creepy, he is following in the footsteps of the infamous and imprisoned serial killer Evan Burke. Those who have read any of the prior entries in this series will be in for a treat as they get to spend more quality time with these leading ladies, all of whom are in fine form here. On a personal level, I must admit that his Women’s Murder Club series – focused on the professional and personal lives of four women in San Francisco - has been very hit and miss over the last couple of years with more weak outings than not. As Detective Lindsay Boxer investigates whether the perpetrators are brilliant impostors or police officers gone rogue, she receives a chilling warning to back off.

Claire Washburn, San Francisco’s Chief Medical Examiner who is tasked with working on Blackouts latest victims. Her fellow members of the Women’s Murder Club – Lindsay, Yuki, and Claire – show up to support her and indulge in a celebratory dinner afterwards. It's hard to review a series written by a master storyteller and not repeat concepts or say something original. The hunt for Cindy who could be the next victim, is on, leaving Detective Lindsay Boxer on guard and leaving no rock unturned. Lindsay and her partner Rich Conklin are tracking this slick perp who seems to be close but always one step ahead. In this next installment from An Alex Cross and John Sampson Thriller, the brilliant crime-solving duo is back. A big thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for the opportunity to read and review this book. I walked past the two rows of gray metal desks toward the workstation Conklin, Alvarez, and I had staked out as our own. Also, Cindy has been playing a key role in authoring Burke’s life story and going on a publicity tour. All four Murder Club members appear in this 23rd instalment and they all play a part in the plot (which has been missing for quite a few recent publications in the series).

I adore police procedural novels but I thought this book blurred the lines far too much between reality and fiction. Hachette Book Group is a leading book publisher based in New York and a division of Hachette Livre, the third-largest publisher in the world. It is only when Cindy is kidnapped by Blackout that Boxer and the SFPD realise just how serious things are getting.

Another member of the Women’s Murder Club, Yuki Castellano, is prosecuting a difficult case involving the brutal beating of a woman by her husband. A man is accused of depriving his wife of the necessities of life after chaining her up in the basement of their home.

Now Lindsay’s tracking an elusive suspect, one who’s penning a deadly playbook featuring Cindy’s name in blood-red ink. As the opening promises this is one for the fans of the Women’s Murder Club and it certainly delivers on that promise. The most recent installment of the Women's Murder Club series features Cindy's new bestselling true crime book, and murders that seem to happen after her book signings. The Century list includes brand-name novelists such as James Patterson, Karin Slaughter, Lisa Jewell and Katie Fforde, and we are also proud to be publishing compelling and powerful debut novels such as Wool by Hugh Howey and Until You? I’m aware that this is a part of a series but equally I should’ve been made to feel like I was part of ‘the gang’.
